De
Starre means "The Red Star" and it's a Maasland mansion with 6
storeys. It originates from the first half of the 16th century and the interior
of the house has been kept unchanged for the whole period of it's existence.
There is also a "cour" (courtyard) in the centre of the building.
In the 19th century the facade has been restored. In that time "De
Starre" has been a doctor's home. The lowest storey consists of a long
corridor, the waiting room on the left side and the right side with the
stairs, a front room and a rear room where the doctor has had the walls
painted in Japanese style. The drawings have been preserved and people can
still admire them nowadays.
